Some Benefits Of Aromatherapy

By Tim Masters

Aromatherapy can help boost a person's mood. It can also help remove the stress and at the same time provide good health benefits to a person who will undergo this process. Aromatherapy works by inhaling essential oils that has been extracted from plants and some flowers for the sole purpose of healing.

Aside from different nice smelling oils, the process of aromatherapy also uses candles for heating. Some examples of the herbs that are used in aromatherapy are peppermint and eucalyptus. These herbs are very good in revitalizing the energy of the person. Lemon and rosemary are some types of flowers that are also used to boost one's energy. This is good for people who always feel tired after a day's work. On the opposite side, lavender and chamomile makes the body feels relaxed and calm.

Do you know that our sense of smell is so powerful that it can distinguish about 10,000 kinds of scents? This sense is also called Limbic system. Once stimulated it releases good chemicals in the body. Together with these chemicals, it also releases endorphins and neurotransmitters.

Once a person inhales the essential oils, the compounds are absorbed by the bloodstream. This is as safe as putting some lotion or cream on your skin and then massaging it.

Most people love to visit spas and massage therapists for their regular aromatherapy programs but you can also perform this on your home. All you have to do is buy candles, necessary oils and some kind of burner of diffuser to heat the oil. To be able to make this effective, you need to do this in the quietest place of the house, so that you can be comfortable.

This process is also a good option for medication. This has very little side effects that can be only experienced by certain persons who are sensitive or allergic to certain substances. As always, consult your medical professional for more information regarding the benefits of aromatherapy. - 14130
