The Keys To Stress Reduction

By Kimberlee Cusumano

Have your ever experienced a time when you're going through various aches in your body and at the same time, feeling a certain imbalance in your life? And you know that the aches you feel are more than just physical. If so, then maybe you should try to dig deeper in your senses and experience the healing powers of Reiki.

This is a Japanese technique which incorporates the way we treat our body in terms of the energy flow inside. A low "life force energy" may suggest that the person is vulnerable to stress and different kinds of body pain while a high "life force energy" may depict a person's good health and capability of being happy. The reiki technique is about creating a good energy flow that would reduce stress and promote healing from fatigue. It concentrates on creating wholeness in a person, so that it is able to work effectively and properly. A successful practice will lead to happier healthier stress-free life - which is what all of us aim for.

A person is often even more stressed on how to do this but it is really just a basic practice of treating our body well. For example, the act of meditation. One form of meditation is expressed in Zazen and Vipassana where it centers on formal sitting, the aim is to practice proper breathing while keeping the body immobile and the attention of the person controlled. It is an easy way to keep peace inside yourself while working outwards on how the tension on your body is removed. Meditation also concentrates on how the person thinks; it could be an expressive practice where the body is free to do anything while the mind aims to have positive perspective with the things happening around.

A popular form of getting rid of stress is also through massage. This can be expanded with healing starting from the physical state of a person and getting through all the way to the mind and the soul. The goal of a massage is to slowly eliminate tension in muscles after the body has felt better; the mind will also start feeling better. It has been said that pain is only in the mind and if ache is taken off from the body then the mind would also stop thinking of pain.

As said earlier, massage is about making the body loose and less tense by applying pressure. The hands, feet, fingers, forearms and elbows of the person can be used to apply pressure, but the person should preferably be a massage therapist. Since a massage therapist is already well oriented on what areas of the body need pressure, it will have a better effect and prevent the individual from feeling more tension caused by wrong methods of massage.

There are simple and easy ways to feel better. Whether we choose to start from our physical pain moving inward or create an inner balance in ourselves and move outward. Various methods will help us get through every back-breaking day with ease and comfort. - 14130
