Organic Skin Care: Women Can't Get Enough

By Jemma Rivera

Today more and more people are opting to use organically-based cleaning agents and eating organically-grown food. Women are also following suit with this by using organically-based makeup and skin care products to nourish their skin.

The word "organic" refers to food that is grown without any use of insecticides, fungicides, synthetic pesticides, herbicides or any other toxic substances. You will find that organic skin care products are made from fruits, herbs and flower buds. You really have no reason for using any synthetic skin care products or make-up when the very Earth is able to supply you with every organic means to complete the needs of your skin. It is enough that our bodies and skin are exposed to harmful pollutants all day long due to the environment in which we live. Your skin does not need to be invaded by any other harmful toxins or chemicals.

You may want to consider this thought: Government regulations allow just about any ingredient to be used when different products are manufactured for our hair, skin, and nails as well as in the very water we drink. The healthy thing to do is to get on your computer or make a visit to your local library so you can research healthier options.

In the United States, The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is the organization that sets the regulations and standards that govern the manufacturing of drugs and food. The FDA doesn't spend a lot of time analysing makeup and skin products like they really should. The regulations in other countries are unfortunately just as lax. This makes it easy for harmful ingredients to get into skin care products around the world.

Skin care products very often have some of these harmful chemicals mixed in them: Nitrosamines, Mercury, DEA, Dioxene, Cyclomethicone, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Polethyelene Glycol, and Polethylene eth-. Don't these sound great to apply on your skin?

Many of these toxic chemicals seep into the skin and get into our systems. The body does not have the means to get rid of them either. The chemicals then wind up collecting in the intestines and enter from there into our internal organs where serious damage can occur.

This is a great reason for you to start reading skin care product and makeup labels. This should be no different to what many people do when purchasing food. Look into purchasing the organic skin care products and makeup. When you eliminate the dangerous chemicals, you will find that your skin will look much healthier and fresher.

Humectants, surfactants, emollients, emulsifiers and preservatives are some of the ingredients that can be found in organic skin care products and make-up.

Make sure that you are able to distinguish the difference between synthetic ingredients and the all natural ingredients. This does not have to be an enormous undertaking. If you have a computer and the Internet, you can make a mountainous task into a relatively simple one. It will be well worth the effort to enjoy "going green" with your skin care products and make-up. - 14130
