Features of the Adaptable Lavender Essential Oil

One of the most popular and versatile essential oils around has got to be Lavender. Lavender oil is an essential oil obtained by the process of distillation from the small blue-violet flowers of certain species of lavender. It can take over a hundred pounds of flowers to make one pound of lavender essential oil. The plant is in full bloom in the summer and that is when the flowers are harvested.

The use of Lavender has been enjoyed by people for thousands of years. It has been found in use in many skin care and perfume products. Lavender is quickly absorbed by the skin and has many other useful qualities.
