What YOu Don't Want To Know About Moisturizers For Oily Skin.

By Peter Albertonach

Moisturizers for oily skin are big business however the sad truth is that most oily skin moisturizers do very little to moisturize your skin at best and at worst can be risky to your health. This is a result of the types of ingredients used in so many mainstream skin care products today.

Most of the big name brands of skin care products that you will see on the shelves of your local store have a range of chemical and petrochemical ingredients. There are many many examples however I'll give you one which should suffice.

Mineral oil is found very commonly in an exceedingly wide range of beauty and personal products and skin care products such as moisturizers for dry skin and moisturizers for oily skin.

Mineral oil is a petrochemical product that is a byproduct of the distillation of crude oil. Mineral oil goes by a wide range of different names and so even if you look on the label of the skin care products you use now you may not see mineral oil listed there even though it is an ingredient in the product because it is being listed under a different name.

Mineral oil doesn't moisturize. In fact it is intended to form a thin film of oil over the skin to help prevent moisture loss. Mineral oil does not increase the moisture levels in the skin and by forming a layer of oil on the skin it can exacerbate skin problems such as acne and can also lead to a restriction in the ability of the skin to eliminate toxins through the pores.

Mineral oil has been linked to cancer as well as allergies and irritation of the skin and eyes. It can be absorbed into the body small amounts where it can create vitamin deficiency problems.

So why in the world would the personal and beauty products manufacturers and skin care manufacturers use mineral oil in their products? There's a simple answer, it's incredibly cheap and way cheaper than any other alternative ingredient.

There are many excellent alternatives to the use of mineral oil in moisturizers for oily skin or even moisturizers the dry skin. There are many natural ingredients which work exceedingly well as skin moisturizers and have been known to be effective at promoting better skin health for generations. Shea butter, avocado extract and babassu oil are 3 examples however there are many more examples of natural ingredients which are well known to be effective skin moisturizers.

There are companies which produce excellent natural skin care products using such ingredients. One in particular makes an excellent range of natural anti aging products, none of which contain mineral oil or any other chemical or petrochemical ingredients, and which work equally well for all skin types. They do not produce a moisturizer for oily skin and in fact do not produce a moisturizer at all because all their products work to produce better skin health and better skin moisture levels equally well.

The obvious conclusion must be that these products are very expensive however in fact that is not the case, they are in fact extremely cost competitive. The reason is that the company that makes them doesn't engage in television advertising and so is not required to factor the cost of television advertising into the price of the product.

If you suffer from oily skin and if you're in need of an oily skin moisturizer that helps promote optimum skin health as well as skin moisture then there are excellent natural skin care products available to you right now which do exactly that. You can throw out those oily skin creams that you may have in the cupboard right now with mineral oil and other petrochemical ingredients in them.

There should be no problems with skin moisturizing for anyone with either dry skin or oily skin because there are excellent natural skin care products available right now the people with all skin types.
