The Best Natural Migraine Cure Is One From Ages Past

By Patrick Ogunnaike

The best natural migraine cure comes out of a vinegar bottle and is usually stored under the sink in almost every household and for some it can be the best thing that ever happened while it will not work for others. Folklore remedies come down from age to age and often work better than something prescribed by the doctor and bought from the pharmacy. However, there are times when symptoms get out of hand and no natural remedy will work and you need to get something from a physician.

This cure is simple and it is hard to believe it will work, but it does work for many people that suffer from migraines. If you have asthma take care in performing this natural cure. Start slowly and if you find it difficult to breathe, stop the process. Take a cup of apple cider vinegar and put it in a cooking pot. Add one half cup water. Bring to a boil and turn off the heat. Place a hot pad or heavy towel on a table. Sit down at a chair with the pot in front of you.

This old natural cure is so simple you will probably laugh, but many folk have found it gets rid of a migraine in just 30 minutes to 1 hour. Asthma sufferers should be wary of this cure and take precautions. They must go slow and if they have a problem breathing they need to stop right away. In a pan on the stove place 1 cup of apple cider vinegar and add one half cup of water. Bring this combination up to a boil then take it from the heat. You will need to protect a table with a hot pad or towel. Place the pot on the hot pad and sit at a chair with the pan directly opposite your position.

Natural Cures are great but there is no guarantee that they will work. Humans are unique and sometimes our uniqueness works against us. A remedy that will work on most of the population might not work on you. Then again, something that does work for you may make everyone else laugh. Natural remedies just have to be tried to see if they will cure the malady or not.

There are other natural cures for migraines and one makes use of lavender oil. This oil can be found at drug stores and places that sell crafts. Look for them in stores that sell supplies for aromatherapeutical applications, or herb shops. Lavender oil can be found On Line as well. This oil has a very strong scent so those with asthma must be wary again. People with allergies can also have a bit of a problem. It is advisable for everyone to take a whiff of lavender oil then be patient for 15 or 20 minutes. If there are no effects like a stuffed up sinus, itchy eyes or clogged throat, you should be okay. Place 2 drops of the lavender oil right on the temples on either side of your head and rub it in. Rest for 15 minutes in a room that is dark. Before you know it the migraine should be gone. Rosemary Oil works in much the same fashion.

Other remedies include taking a teaspoon of dried catnip and putting it into 1 cup boiled water. Let sit covered with a saucer for about 10 minutes then strain and drink. You can put a little bit of sugar or honey in the infusion if it tastes bad. Another infusion that may work well is 1 heaping teaspoon dried chamomile to a cup of boiling water, cover and let sit 10 minutes, strain and drink. If you are allergic to ragweed you may be allergic to chamomile. You can do the same with mint.

The Irish had a natural cure that entails cutting a potato and placing the cut side on the forehead and reclining for about fifteen minutes. Feverfew capsules can provide you with a preventative measure and you may never have migraines again if you take one per day. Grind lemon peel into a paste. Spread it on your forehead and let it dry for fifteen or twenty minutes. Then wash with water and your migraine will disappear.

Migraine cures that are natural work in some cases but for other cases you may have to do something else. If the migraine continues to plague you for more than two days you should consult with a doctor and take medication they give you. Today there are new and improved drugs for migraines that work wonders. A fact about migraines is that you usually do not have them forever because certain triggers stop like menstrual periods they may just disappear after awhile. - 14130
