By Zidni A Apriya

Garlic is one of the most effective hypertension natural cures. Garlic could help to lower blood pressure, with the power to ease the spasms of the small arteries. Garlic helps to slow the pulse and modifies the heart rhythm and helps to relief the symptoms of dizziness, numbness, and shortness of breath.

Garlic (allium sativum) comes from Asia and is one of the oldest cultivated plants known to man. It is a perennial bulb (called a head) made up of divided cloves that are covered in papery skin. The strong sulfur scent of garlic has been known to repel insects (and vampires) and was thought to protect against disease and increase strength. Roman sailors and Egyptian slaves were given daily rations of garlic to ensure productivity.

Garlic is familiar in almost every cuisine worldwide. Its effect varies according to the way it's prepared. Juice squeezed from the cloves or cloves chopped fresh and raw add a pungent quality to recipes. Sauted slowly or roasted whole, garlic's natural sugar is released and caramelized for a sweet buttery texture. Overcooked, and its bitterness is revealed.

There are several garlic varieties, and the flavor of one variety can vary by grower. The most common garlic in grocery stores is the soft-necked allium sativum. Purple striped allium ophios have a hard neck with a stem that's hard like a twig. Their flavor is rich, but the aroma is mild. Hard to find is the beautiful rose-colored garlic, with a dozen well-defined cloves visible around the outer edge, known as creoles. Elephant garlic is a different species, allium ampeloprasm, and has a softer taste.

Hypertension cure should starts with a well-balanced routine diet, exercise and rest. Diet is of primary importance. Meat and eggs should be avoided because it makes the blood pressure to rise more than any other food. Higher fruit content, fresh fruits, vegetables, lower protein and non-flesh diet are important to lowered blood pressure.

Vegetables are good for the patient of hypertension. They should preferably be taken raw. If they are cooked, it should be ensured that their natural juices are not burnt in the process of cooking. Vegetables like cucumber, carrot, tomatoes, onion, radish, cabbage and spinach are best taken in their raw form. They may be cut into small pieces and sprinkled with a little salt and the juice of a lemon added to them so as to make them more palatable.
