Healthy Eyes Are Sexy Eyes

By Evgania Mehler

Are "bedroom eyes" sexy or healthy? The answer is, they're both. In order to have sexy eyes you have to have healthy eyes. The good news is, you can not only have healthy and sexy eyes, but you can keep them that way. When you're doddering down the street with your cane, those eyes are still going to be turning heads.

There's a diet out there today for every problem you could ever have. The nail strengthening diet, the great hair diet, the clean your colon diet, the belly fat diet, etc. The great news is, there is one diet that will accomplish all of this and has an added benefit. It keeps your eyes healthy as well as the rest of your body. I know you want to ditch all those other diets and try this one, right?

If you take your eyes for granted, then you're like most people. We don't think about them at all. Put a blindfold on and try to write a few words, assuming you can find paper and pencil without being able to see. If you don't like the way this feels, then start taking better care of your eyes and stop taking them for granted.

You remember your mom telling you to eat your carrots so you could see in the dark. Well, she hit the nail on the head. Carrots contain beta-carotene which indeed helps improve night vision. Sweet potatoes, pumpkin, cantaloupe, winter squash and mangos are also high in this powerful nutrient. Beta-carotene is converted into Vitamin A in your body and it helps your eyes adjust to light changes and enhances visual acuity.

Do you go to your favorite restaurant and order a big plate of spinach, kale or collard greens? Uh, probably not. Most people wouldn't be caught dead eating that stuff. However, that stuff contains a powerful ally for your eyes. They contain lutein which can help prevent cataracts and macular degeneration.

Do you hate vegetables, whether they're leafy green or anything else? Well, you're not alone. Many people just won't eat vegetables. Leafy greens, tomatoes, carrots, red peppers and squash are high in lutein which helps prevent degenerative sight problems. Still don't want to eat them? Then try a plate of green algae which is also high in lutein. Maybe they don't sound so bad anymore, do they? - 14130
