Best Colon Cleansing Products

By William Wallace

Colon health is getting a lot of attention lately. Rightfully so. Colon cleansing can improve your health by clearing out toxins, undigested food, fecal build-up, and even remove harmful parasites from your system! Going to the doctor to have your colon cleansed can be inconvenient, embarrassing, and costly. Luckily there are many colon cleansing products on the market that make it possible for you cleanse in the privacy of your own home.

How do you know which colon cleansing products to choose? Begin by familiarizing yourself with the basic products. Then consult with your doctor. Your doctor will be familiar with your medical history and should be able to advise you as to which method will be best for you.

It's easy to be overwhelmed by all the colon cleansing products on the market. Basically, though, supplements and powders fall into two major categories. There are standard herbal supplements and cleansing kits. Herbal supplements are aimed at the general well-being of the digestive system, much in the way of a multivitamin or fiber substitute. Cleansing kits are usually a combination of herbs, meant to be taken in a series, that specifically target colon function. For example, a cleansing kit may have three bottles of herbal preparations to be used over a period of days or weeks.

Be aware that while herbs are natural, they are not always safe for use as colon cleansing products. Protect yourself from hype and scams by checking with your doctor. Even common herbs could interfere with medication or complicate existing health problems.

Enemas have been used for a long time to cleanse the colon. You can find a kit at most drug store pharmacies. They gently break up excess waste material by flushing the colon with warm water. Be aware that an enema is intended to flush the lower intestine only. To get a full colon cleanse, or high colonic, you need to see a professional. Beware of colon cleansing products that claim otherwise.

There are many supplements you can add to the enema solution that are supposed to help with the detox process. Treat these the same way you would any herb or drug, with caution. The intestines are designed to absorb, so anything you introduce via an enema will be introduced into your body's systems.

Colonic irrigation boards are designed for people who are really serious about colon health. Essentially, it's a portable table supported by a toilet on one end and a chair under the other end. The person can lie on the board, insert the tube into the rectum and expel the excess waste and water into the toilet without having to get up. The main benefit here is comfort. Also, since colonic boards usually come with 5 gallon tank, you can repeat the fill-and-flush process in one sitting. - 14130
