How Can You Treat Constipation Naturally

By Dr Pam AP Jun

There are two basic forms of constipation, both the organic and functional types of constipation, over at this article, we will look at functional constipation and how it can be treated using natural remedies.

And firstly, let's look at Functional Constipation and how it can be treated.

This type of constipation is a direct result of us not following the correct kind of diet and not drinking enough fluids.

You also need to look at your kind of lifestyle; you really will want a lifestyle that will help promote the movement of digested food through the intestines and colon correctly, and not hindering the process.

Although you may soon discover there are many definitions relating to what constipation is, but to put it in simple terms constipation is a condition where fecal matter remains for too long in the colon prior to leaving the body through the rectum.

What you should know is that constipation is a symptom and not a disease and it is telling you that your colon is not working properly or that you may have some form of gastrointestinal disease that you do not know about.

Constipation is a serious warning sign that the lifestyle you are leading and the diet you are on is causing an imbalance in the way your body works.

Most of the people will either try to ignore or eliminate the symptoms caused by constipation using unnatural or drugstore laxatives (which can only cause further problems).

In fact whenever possible avoid drugstore laxatives at all costs (they can become very addictive) and will cause damage to the colon as well as producing some nasty side effects if used for extended periods of time.

Sometime they may create the problem of constipation which in fact you are trying to get rid of.
