As we go through life, we experience many different stresses. These stresses can not only affect the way we think, but also the way we feel physically. They affect the way our body functions and ultimately our overall health. When we think of stresses, we usually think about emotional stresses that bog us down at home or at work. These are definitely things that we deal with on a daily basis, but there are many different types of stresses that also have a negative affect on our health. These different types can be broken down into three different categories; physical stresses, chemical stresses, and social or emotional stresses.
When we think of physical stresses, the thing that usually comes to mind is a sudden impact force or a trauma that we may have experienced at one time or another. This could be a car accident or even a fall as a child. Another kind of physical stress is a repetitive force put on your body that puts your body into an abnormal position. Over time, this can be just as detrimental as the sudden trauma. Examples of this would be spending all day on the computer, driving long distances, or even sleeping on an inadequate surface.
Chemical stresses can be a cause of excessive use of drugs, alcohol, or medications. All of these substances are toxins that we ingest and our body needs to process. When they are taken in excess, our body has to work that much harder to process them through our systems. This puts undue stress not only on the organs doing the work, but on the surrounding muscles as well. Another example is a poor diet. Ingesting poor choices at the table can again lead to overworking not only the organs which process it, but also the surrounding muscles. This can lead to physical pain in the future.
Finally, emotional or social stress comes from problems at home or at work that we may have trouble dealing with. In order to deal with these problems, it becomes an individual challenge to face the problems in the right light. If we live our lives in a positive light and always seek solutions in every situation as opposed to seeing problems, many occasions can become much more enjoyable. Optimism is always king when we are looking to live a healthy life.
With all of these stresses that we face in our day-to-day lives, it is a constant battle to stay healthy. Many of these problems can be improved by improving lifestyle and making better choices, but there are also problems that occur that cant fix themselves. One of these problems is the misalignment of the spine, which leads to reduced function of the body. A Chiropractor corrects these misalignments in order for the nervous system to flow freely and the brain to communicate to the body at 100%. This allows the affects of all of this stress in our lives to be relieved and for the body to be able to defend against those stresses better in the future.
There may be a lot of stresses that we encounter on a regular basis, but by making some better lifestyle choices and by maintaining our spinal health, we can be prepared for them and have the resistance that we need to fight them off. - 14130
