The Dangers Of Fluoride

Even though you may have always thought differently, it is important to know that fluoride is not as safe as it was once thought to be. While your dentist may want to give you and your kids a fluoride treatment, it is in everyone's best interest to refuse it. Your dentist may simply not have current and up to date information on the deadly effects that fluoride can have on a person.

There once was a case of a child dying in the dentist's chair due to a fluoride treatment. Since many people already receive enough fluoride from their water, toothpaste, and from other sources, it is important to limit any additional fluoride from being introduced into your body or the body of those you love and care for.

While many people have been lead to believe that a lot of fluoride is good for their teeth, studies have shown that areas with a higher amount of fluoride in the water have more cases of teeth decay. Too much of anything never leads to something good. This is something that you have to be careful about.

While some people would say to just completely stop ingesting fluoride, that is not something that can easily be done. Fluoride can be found in tea, air pollution, anesthetics, Scotchgard, Teflon, fluoridated public water, household products, oral dental products, and in many other places. It is almost impossible to escape.

While you may not be able to completely rid your body of fluoride intake, you can take steps to reduce your chances of an overdoes. The best thing to do is to begin avoiding anything and everything you know of that contains fluoride in it. In the end you will still get a little in your system from things you were not aware of but by taking taken you are making a big step in ensuring that you and your loved ones will not suffer an over dose of fluoride.

A good place to start is to replace your toothpaste. Use toothpastes that do not contain fluoride. Make sure that you are also getting plenty of vitamin C and vitamin B6 supplements. And since Teflon is made from fluoride, it would be a good idea to discontinue use of the non-stick pots and pans. Ingesting even the slightest bit of Teflon from pan scrapes could lead to serious health problems.

If you want to eat foods that are low in fluoride then you will want to add more eggs, coconuts, watermelons, red meats, and pineapple into your diet. Milk is also low in fluoride. Stay clear of as many sugars and starches as possible and make sure that you are getting regular checkups at the dentist.

As you can easily see, it can be very hard to completely avoid fluoride all together. But as long as you are taking as many precautions as you can you should be just fine. Try not to allow the fear of fluoride control your life but make sure that you and you are loved ones are aware of the dangers. By having knowledge you will be in a much better position to ensure that you will have good health. - 14130
