Natural Pain Relief Technique - Leave it to the Chinese

By Yolanda Adey

Although we don't like pain, there is a good reason for it as it is the body's way of telling us that something is wrong and to stop us from making a situation worse. It can be caused by anything from a dental cavity to a broken bone to a disease but once we determine where the pain is coming from, we can diagnose and address the health problem, thus relieving the pain.

Normally once the cause of the pain is treated, the pain will gradually disappear but not always.

People who suffer with back injuries, arthritis or migraines for instance are said to be suffering with 'chronic pain'; which doesn't go away. Untold millions of people suffer from chronic pain and despite medicines best efforts there is no way currently to eliminate or prevent the cause of it.

It is also true that quite often the root cause of the pain is actually treated but faulty nerve connections believe the condition still exists and create pain signals which eventually become the condition and not the result of it.

Natural pain relief treatments are becoming more popular as many people have decided that prescription medication taken over prolonged periods is not only harmful through adverse side effects, but to maintain the effectiveness of the drugs, increase dosages must be consumed.

Acupuncture has been used as a form of natural pain relief and cure for many chronic conditions for over two thousand years. Using tiny and incredibly thin needles, acupuncture is an ancient medical treatment.

This is used by people who have tried all the normal traditional medical treatments but have found acupuncture brings the greatest relief from pain. Other people have started using herbal remedies as a natural pain relief treatment because there is little chance of any adverse side effects causing further problems. One example is vitamin E which is a natural pain relief treatment for people suffering with painful scarring.

However, herbal treatments do take longer to become effective against the almost immediate effect of conventional pain killers but on the plus side to this there are only natural products used so they cannot harm the body. However, one of the best ways to avoid even the need for natural pain relief is to adapt your lifestyle by adopting a healthy diet with plenty of fruit, whole grains and vegetables, with a reduction in the consumption of processed foods.

Take care to get enough sleep each night, and take time out of each day for exercise as even simple activities like taking the stairs at work or a walk around the block go a long way towards improving your health.
