Common Types of Hemorrhoid Problems

Sufferers know that there are two different types of hemorrhoids: External and Internal

Internal Hemorrhoid

The internal hemorrhoid occurs within the anal canal. As far as pain goes, internal hemorrhoid are far less painful than external hemorrhoids, but are just as uncomfortable usually internal hemorrhoids happen when a person has a lot of pressure on their veins inside of their anal canal.

One of the most common symptoms associated with this type of hemorrhoid is the strong constant feeling that you need to go to the bathroom. Most of the time the internal hemorrhoid will leave a trace of blood either on the stool or on the toilet paper. When the hemorrhoid is being forced for the anus (usually do to straining) this is called prolapsed. This type of hemorrhoid looks like it is skin in a big lump coming from the anal opening.

External hemorrhoids

External hemorrhoids are the type of hemorrhoid that is found on the outside of your anal canal. This type of hemorrhoid can be exceptionally uncomfortable. You will usually have extreme stabbing sensations followed by itching and burning. Commonly you will have bleeding when you get external hemorrhoids. You will find blood on toilet paper and even on your stools, which occurs when you have blood clots inside of your veins. If you do experience a Thrombosed type of hemorrhoids, you will need to have surgery.

A problem, usually confused with hemorrhoids is the "fissure", this is a hemorrhoid like problem though it is not really a type of hemorrhoid. The anal fissure is actually a tear in the skin, however if it is not cared for it will likely become a hemorrhoid. Anal fissures are especially painful when you are passing stools.

Hemorrhoids in Children

Of all the type of hemorrhoids out there, this one is fortunately is the least common type. Child hemorrhoids do, however, happen occasionally in some children. This type of hemorrhoid occurs because of long periods of extreme coughing, long periods of crying, and constipation. The symptom associated with child hemorrhoids is usually bloody stools and blood near the anal canal. If you see any of these signs on you child, you should contact you physician quickly.
