House pets like dogs and cats, and horses that are in daily contact with their owners. are much more amenable to receiving psychic healing than are their wild cousins who are necessarily fixated on rustling up their next meal and finding a safe place to sleep.
After receiving requests from people for healing for their pets, I started up the Healapet Network in 1998. Without much difficulty I was able to get a group of volunteer healers to work expressly with pets and over time they have helped thousands of pets. The requests have ranged from the exotic such as a python and a lion cub, to the more common like cats, dogs and horses. We've received many e-mails thanking us for our healing efforts.
Now I have to explain what I mean by effective healing. A German Shepherd with hip dysplasia is not going to be miraculously relieved of that condition. What the distance healing can accomplish however is instilling a calming influence together with the alleviation of pain, and providing the optimum condition for the continuing life style of the dog. This also provides the best circumstance for surgical intervention and later for the dog's speedy recovery.
We do get reports of a miraculous recovery or a completely unexpected turnaround of a pet's condition; whether these are real or fancied, I can't say and I certainly would not take any credit for them. In the years I've been doing distance healing work, I have grown to know that I'm just a small scene in a vast scenario.
Among the volunteers with the Healapet Network are practitioners of numerous healing modalities. These include prayers, spiritual healers, Reiki practitioners and psychic healers. I'm a Reiki Master certified in the mid 1990's, but I still practice the Seventh Sense psychic method originated by B. Bibb in the 1960's. The seventh sense refers to the telepathic communication used to establish contact with the subject. I much prefer this method as it is simple and does not use symbols, secret words or mantras.
I'm not inferring that other methods are not as good. For instance there are some excellent Reiki healers and I know of a Spiritual Healer in Wales who is one of the best on either the Healapet or Distant Healing Networks. Actually my motto on this subject is simply - what ever works!
For those who are unfamiliar with distance healing, also known as remote healing, at least two questions immediately spring to mind.
1. Tell me what distance healing means and what is it anyway?
2. How is it accomplished?
It is not possible in an article of this length to give full answers to those questions, but here are my own Readers Digest versions.
Basically distance healing is the transmission of healing energy and thoughts from me to you over a distance that can range from the next room to halfway around the world. The distance is of no matter.
The expanation of how it is done depends entirely on the belief system of the healer, and often the healer has no better explanation than you or I. And while you may read many elaborate descriptions by those who profess to know, the real truth is that nobody knows The fact that it is accomplished is truth enough for most of us.
Speaking for myself only, I believe there is a Universal Intelligence, one aspect of which is the Life Force Energy which energizes the llfe spirit of all earthly creatures. As the Universal Intelligence is infinitely benign (wishing us neither good nor evil) as healers we need to open a channel for the Life Force Energy to replenish the ailing subject's energy level. There is of course much more to it than that, but this is an article, not a book!
Can you do distance healing by making the necessary telepathic contact with your pet? Yes, if you want to take the time to learn and practice. Meanwhile here is something to try. I picked this up a long time ago, I think it may have been from one of Stuart Wildes' books.
It's probably late at night, you are lying awake, and you can hear a dog barking in the distance. Not an excited barking, but more of a barking for the sake of barking. Go to your alpha level (your day-dreaming state) and let a mental picture of the dog form in your mind.
Start imagining that you are next to the dog, and begin gently, slowly, stroking it from the head to the shoulders, meanwhile mentally telling him it's fine, he's not alone, comforting him in general. You may find that the dog will stop barking perhaps with yip or two at the end. Well done, you've made contact with a dog!
