Melaonin and other remedies for sleeping problems are very popular and here are some reasons for their use. People working in different parts of the world need to travel a lot. Their body clock thinks they are still in a different time zone and they can't fall asleep at a convenient time.

Irregular working hours make it impossible to get sleep since your body is still very active when you go to bed. Trying to calm down for a few hours before going to the bedroom might help with this problem. If you are not getting enough sleep you will start to stress about not sleeping.

When you start to feel this anxiety you can no longer get any sleep because it can easily be turned in to fright about not falling asleep. That will make it even harder to sleep without sleeping aids. It is not unusal for people who seek medical help on sleeping disorders to have suffered from them for a long time.

Sleeping aids are becoming more and more popular and at the same time doctors are trying to prescribe them less and less. They are not a good alternative to natural sleep but in worst cases might be necessary.

Natural sleeping aids are a family of remedies where are such aids as melatonin and valerian. The latter is a natural extract which is not considered to be as strong as melatonin.

Being a herbal remedy for sleeping problems valerian is thought of being a safe alternative to melatonin which is a hormone secreted from the pinealocytes in your pineal gland. Melatonin prepares your body for sleep when the darkness of the night comes.

Most of the people who are having trouble sleeping would find it useful to do some daily exercise since it has been shown to make it easier to fall asleep at night if you have done a hard workout during the day. Regular workouts will help in creating regular sleeping patterns.

Writing down the times you went to bed and when you woke up, the hours you slept and everything you did on that day can help you understand why you are not sleeping. When you have well slept nights it is easy to read what you did and try to duplicate that.

Meditation is a good alternative to most stress relief techniques and it can make you fall asleep even while doing it. Relaxing and relieving you from the stress makes it easy to calm down when trying to sleep.

It is a good idea to try to wake up as early as possible and go out to do some exercise. A hard workout in the morning will make you a bit tired for the whole day and you will be exhausted when the night comes. It will be easy to sleep.

If after reading this article you are still finding it hard to fall asleep you should maybe consult a doctor or a sleep therapist. They can help you with your problems individually and relax you in to a good nights sleep. - 14130
