How Would You Know If You Had Adrenal Fatigue?

Just what is Adrenal Fatigue?

* Feeling fatigued?

* Get weary especially when faced with stress?

* Having trouble getting up in the morning?

* Need coffee, colas or sweet snacks to keep going?

If your answer is yes to any one of the above questions, you could be feeling letargic because of the effects from Adrenal Fatigue. It is the latest condition affecting much of the population in the industrialized world. It is truly the 21st century physical condition. Adrenal fatigue can occur in anyone who has severe or constant physical or emotional stress in their life. It also can be a contributing factor in other ailments such as being overweight, reactions to food and the environment. Despite the fact that adrenal fatigue affects millions of people traditional medicine does not identify or treat it as a medical condition.

This condition has been known also as Hypoadrenia (reduced functioning of the adrenal glands), Non Addison's disease (extremely low adrenal activity), neurasthenia (psychological disorder characterized by chronic fatigue), adrenal fatigue, and adrenal apathy. Adrenal fatigue can wreck havoc in your life. Adrenal fatigue is produced when the adrenal gland cannot meet the demands of stress being faced by the individual. In more severe cases the adrenal is working so way below its optimum that a person is tired through out the day and can hardly function for more than a few hours a day. The adrenal function is so compromised that it affects all the systems in the body including fluid and electrolyte balance (mineral to water balance), carbohydrate , protein and fat metabolism (conversion of food to energy), heart and even libido. Whether you have an emotional crisis or physical stress like surgery, if the adrenal cannot provide the hormone production in enough quantities, you will experience some fatigue.

What kind of people get adrenal fatigue?

Anyone can suffer from adrenal fatigue sometime in his or her life. An illness, a life crisis or difficult situation can drain the adrenal resources of even a healthy person. However there are factors that can make you prone to getting adrenal fatigue. They include certain lifestyles e.g. smoking, drugs, too little sleep, poor diet or too many pressures or repeated infections (chronic bronchitis or recurrent infections pneumonia etc.).

How widespread is adrenal fatigue?

Since 9-11 occurred in the US, over 80% of North Americans suffer from adrenal fatigue sometime in their life. Sometimes it is temporary or it could last for a long period of time and could be very debilitating.

How can you tell if you have Adrenal fatigue? If you suffer from the following symptoms frequently, then you may be suffering from Adrenal fatigue:

* If you feel tired for no reason most of the time.

* Find it difficult to awaken even though you got plenty of sleep.

* Feeling haggard or overcome with stress and emotions.

* Health Doesn't return fast following and illness or stress in your life?

* Have an intense desire for sugary or salty treats?

* Feeling at your highest level of energy and alertness later in the day?

Other physical problems that are influenced by adrenal fatigue

* Blood sugar levels that are low

* Muscle pains

* Diabetes

* Infections that take a long time to heal or that recur often

* Food, plant and animal allergic reactions

* Rheumatoid Arthritis

* Irregularities occurring with sleep

* Arduous Menopause

* Female hormone imbalance
