Home Remedies to Fight Your Cold

Regardless of how much you exercise or how carefully you eat, you can't avoid colds. They get us all.

But, you can probably get rid of your colds quickly, and thereby shorten your suffering. Here's how.

1. Take 1,000-1,500 milligrams of vitamin C per day until the cold is gone.

2. Twice a day, drink a cup of warm water, lemon, and honey. Use the juice of a good sized lemon with each cup of water, and at least one teaspoon of honey.

3. Before bed, take a very hot shower, put on sweat clothes, and sleep under 2-3 blankets.

4. Here is a remedy you've heard about before: chicken soup.

5. Try gargling at least twice daily. A honey, lemon, and hot water mixture works well, as does a simple mixture of table salt and warm water.

Colds are an unpleasant fact of life that we have not yet learned to prevent or cure. But, we can minimize their unpleasant symptoms pretty easily and effectively. - 14130
