The Shocking Story of Chronic Yeast Infections

Chronic yeast infections happen when the microorganism candida has persistently developed and grown into uncontrollable number inside or outside the human body. Despite being inherent and harmless, candida or yeast can have an overgrowth and spread throughout the body due to certain circumstances.

Resistance to treatments or the fact that it has become a recurrent affliction are two circumstances of chronic yeast infections. Chronic yeast infection may either be an indication of a serious illness or can contribute to much worse diseases.

Systemic candidal disease or chronic yeast infections can be quite deadly. The yeast takes over the body on a massive scale. So much so that only one in four people with chronic yeast infection survive. Simple yeast infections such as oral yeast infection and genital candida that isn't helped by common anti-fungal medication may already be causing other illnesses in the body.

Cancer, leukemia, AIDS and diabetes can all contribute to the spread and overgrowth of candida. They do this be weakening the body's immune system thereby upsetting the balance in the yeast production. The can lead to chronic yeast infection.

One of the outcomes of individuals with AIDS involves contracting chronic yeast infection in the esophagus. This then spreads to the entire gastro intestinal system. It can be very painful. People with yeast infections in their gastro intestinal system don't absorb food and its nutrients which causes the body to weaken. Another entry point for chronic yeast infections could be cuts and wounds on the skin. The yeast enters the bloodstream and causes chronic yeast infection. It may also infect the brain which could affect mental functions.

Memory loss and fatigue can also be caused by chronic yeast infections. Other conditions could be extreme mood swings and fevers or chills.

Chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis is another form of chronic yeast infection. It is characterized by rashes in the mouth, on the fingernails, extremities and any other part of the body. It appears to be scales, scabs or lesions.

Constant appearances of thrush or chronic yeast infection is a common condition of individuals with either AIDS As the AIDS advances so does the body's inability to handle yeast production. This is also a condition noticed in cancer patients. Cancer patients not only have to deal with the weakening of their immune system but radiation and chemotherapy can also lead to chronic yeast infection

The relationship between sugar and yeast is well known. It also complicates the lives of diabetics. Because of the high sugar content in their saliva, they are frequently very open to chronic yeast infection starting in the mouth. This condition isn't just seen in the mouth and can be seen all over the body. It is known as diabetes mellitus.

Yeast infections can be effectively treated by even over the counter solutions. Even a superficial yeast infection could lead to chronic yeast infections.
