News Media Blitz

By LJ James

SWINE FLU REACHES THE TOP OF THE CHARTS

When I left work last Friday afternoon I had never heard of the Swine Flu, It did not exist in my world. When I woke up on Monday morning Swine Flu was #1 with a bullet on the News media's list of hits!

Watching the News was worse then listening to some top 40 Radio Station where they play the same songs over and over again! On Every Channel all they where talking about was the Swine Flu, Where it came from, How you could catch it, They where talking about quarantining people all over the Country. My God I though this sounds like the end of the world this must be the plague that will end man kind!

How many Americana's have died from this? I wondered as I sat there on Monday Morning watching the News. I could not find out how many were, dead was it Hundreds perhaps thousands? I waited for the Reporters to inform me of the amount of casualties! It never came just more talk, scary words and sayings. When I got to my office I looked it up on my computer to find no Americans had died at the time and only 6 or 7 Mexicans had died from this disease.

I searched further to find that every year 36,000 people die of different strains of the flu world wide. The Swine Flu in the News is just like playing a song on the Radio , If you play the song enough it will hit the top of the charts.

The United States Government is asking for 1.5 Trillion dollars to look for a cure for the Swine Flu because of a handful of deaths World wide, Why? How come we have never done the same for the estimated 36,000 who die every year from the Flu?

Is it me its me? Am I the ignorant one who just does not get all this! I am not a scientist and maybe I am wrong. Maybe the swine flu is some terrible plague that will end all of mankind. I guess it is still to early to tell ! But if I was a betting man I would place my bet that this is just the follow up from those crazy Kat's who brought us the 2007 Hit The Bird Flu !
